Common Core State Standard Initiative

Illinois is one of many states that have adopted the new common core standards. CPS is beginning the transition and implementation of the common core standards. Students will be monitored and occasionally tested on the common core standards. The common core standards focus on college readiness and rigor. We will be working on implementation of the common core standards here at Sutherland throughout the next few years so that we will be prepared when state standard tests (ISAT) are replaced with common core standard assessments in 2014.
