Kindergarten - 1st Quarter Objectives 2008/09

We will be working with and evaluating these objectives during the first marking period. Your child’s progress will be indicated on his or her report card.

Language Arts

Tell name, address, telephone number, and birth date
Name eight colors
Identify and match sounds to symbols
Discriminate beginning consonant/vowels
Recognize upper and lowercase letters
Express ideas and needs in complete sentences
Begin to read one-syllable and high frequency words
Listen and respond to stories

Math

Count and order numbers/objects
Recognize numbers and match them to groups
Identify position or location
Identify shapes

Motor Skills

Run, jump, hop, and skip
Use manipulatives to construct and create
Use crayons, pencils, and scissors properly
Dress self with minimal assistance
