Kindergarten - 3rd Quarter Objectives 2009/10

Dear Parents,

During the third marking period, we will continue to reinforce previously developed skills in reading and math. In addition, we will introduce the following new skills:

Language Arts

Use writing for communication and self-expression
Progress from pretend writing to identifiable words
Write text from left to right/top to bottom
Begin to use conventions of print

Math

Count and order numbers/objects
Separate groups (subtraction)
Tell time to the hour
Measure and compare using non-standard units
Recognize number words through 10

Motor Skills

Cut, color and paste with greater accuracy
Print letters correctly on lined paper
Copy words and sentences on lined paper using proper
size and spacing
