Greetings to all Band Parents!

I hope you all had great summers and are ready to grow your musical talents and skills as well as use your gift of music tographic serve others in our Beverly community. Music is truly a gift and in the bands here we will strive to use these gifts to develop our minds and our enjoyment of life.

Since our baseball teams have done so well this summer, I wrote out Go Cubs Go! and the White Sox Hey! Hey! Goodbye! song for the band to learn and have ready in case something awesome happens! It hope it does and we will learn great sportsmanship in playing both songs. It will be fun to learn! (We still have the Bears fight song from last year and I hope we can use that also).

Concert Band - For 2nd - 5th year players who demonstrate skill levels and practice requirements for this group. First Rehearsal and Lessons - Thursday, Sept 18 - 8:00 a.m.

Cadet Band - For all 2nd year players and beginners 4th Grade & up - Listening Surveys, instrument demonstrations, personal interviews, throughout September. Parent/Instrument Rental Open House on October 9. Lesson will be on Friday and start October 17 (during school day). Morning rehearsals will begin in November.

Learning to play a musical instrument has many benefits - enjoyment of an art, a sense of accommplishment, cooperation, coordination, how to express oneself, history, and discipline to stick to a task. This is why your part in consistent practice is very much appreciated. Please make a habit of signing weekly practice schedules which are graded.

Band members please arrive at school between 7:50 and 8:00. After 8:00 you will need to be "buzzed" in the main door to enter the building. Band rehearsals start at 8:00 a.m. Rehearsal and lesson attendance is mandatory and very important, being that we only rehears as a group once per week. Thank you for your help in getting your child to all lesson & rehearsals. Parents please send a written excuse if you child is unable to attend any rehearsal or lesson.

Band tuition will be same as the last two years, $150 per semester for one child. For families with two children in Band, the semester payments will be $250. Books will be provided, as needed. Semester payments are due October 9 (October 31 for Cadet) and January 31. Payments after these dates will have $20 late fee.

Looking forward to a Great Year! Go Cubs! - Go White Sox! - Go Bulldogs!
