Sutherland Elementary Local School Council
Meeting Minutes
November 14, 2006
Sutherland Auditorium       

1. The meeting began at 4:00 p.m.

2. Roll was taken; present members were Michael Barnum, Bill Cahill, Rosalind Faulkner, Catherine Gannon, Reggie O’Connor, Susan Poole, Cathy Shepherd, Donna Somerville, John Somerville, Ron Traylor, and Charlie Zarzecki.

3. Minutes from the October 10, 2006 meeting were read and approved.

4. Principal’s Report- Ms. Gannon distributed a report.

a. Principal for a Day- Loren DuPree from Touchcom, Inc. and Ken Canigilia from Merrill Lynch were guest principals.

b. Report Card Pick-Up- ISAT scores still not available

c. Children’s Book Week- LSC and community members read

d. Superintendent from Memphis visit- impressed with school

e. SIP- working on Professional Development

5. Public Comment- none

6. Delegate Reports

a. PPLC (Curriculum)-none

b. PTA-none

c. Buildings and Grounds- Auditorium lights were installed.  Two security cameras have been donated and Donna is inquiring about installation.  We need a bigger sign for the playground.

d. School Climate- Ron met with Ms. Gannon to discuss PAWS volunteers. New student council officers were announced.

7. New Business- will discuss in executive session

8. Old Business

a. Community social to meet Principal Gannon is scheduled for January 14th at the  Beverly Art Center. 

b. LSC web page- No emails received. Susan will revise LSC web page document for next meeting.

c. Cell Tower Update- nothing new to report

d. Fraudulent enrollment-received response letter back

9. Move to executive session (on tape)

10. Return from executive session

11. Next LSC meeting will be December 12, 2006 at 4:00 p.m.
