Welcome from the PTA President

Family Engagement/Student Success

Dear Sutherland Parents, Caregivers and Neighbors,
  
On behalf of the Sutherland PTA Board, welcome to the 2011-2012 School Year!  We are so excited about the events and causes that the PTA will be supporting this year.  As always, the PTA's mission is to foster every Sutherland child's success.  Although much of this success is earned in the classroom, we believe that through parent/caretaker involvement, our students can soar higher!  Our focus throughout the year will be on family health and nutrition, with a variety of activities to be planned, culminating in a science week in which each student will learn how diet and exercise affects his or her own health.  We'll even sponsor a walk-a-thon to bring home the message!  Also, look for PTA meetings to include cooking and exercise classes.

There are so many ways you can be a part of the PTA.  First, become a member (and attend our informative meetings!).  Next, pick an event or two and lend a hand.  Please complete the attached Volunteer Sign Up form.  Finally, participate in our fundraisers.   Innisbrook sales will begin shortly.  This is a great opportunity for you and the PTA.  Stock up on holiday gifts and wrapping paper before the big rush.  Also, save the date....Beverly Wine and Cheese is October 15th.  What a fantastic and fun way to support  Sutherland and enjoy a great night out in the neighborhood.   Bring a friend!

Add this website to your favorites and check it frequently for updated information about school and PTA happenings. Our first PTA meeting is Tuesday, September 13th at 7pm in the Auditorium.
