Chez Kids - L'Alliance Francaise de Chicago

Have Fun! Make Friends! Learn French!

L'Alliance Francaise de Chicago and its team of dedicated teachers propose seven weeks of discovery through various entertaining workshops and two French language classes a week. Children will develop their skills and broaden their horizons.

Embark on a seven-week journey into French language and culture: Language Classes, Art and Crafts, Song, Dance and Music, Games, Sports, Cooking and Field Trips . . . and much more, for children ages 6 to 13.

During activities conducted in French (with some English), kids will be divided into groups based on their ages. All levels of French are welcome.

Valley Learning Center

Ages 4 & up
At Moraine Valley, fun and learning go together! Your kids and teenagers can pursue their unique interests in classes created just for them. We offer workshops and courses for children ages 4 and up.

Technology-minded kids can master the latest software. Future scientists can study chemistry or learn about space. Artistic children can attend theater workshops, play musical instruments, or learn to paint. Young athletes will improve their abilities at our fast-paced sports camps.

We also offer academic help for kids to improve their reading, math, and writing skills without the stress of grades or homework. State-certified instructors teach all of our academic courses, so you can feel confident about the education your child receives.

LINDA REYES - Violin/Viola: Studied at the Julliard School of Music in New York, also holds a performance degree from DePaul  University. An accomplished professional performer who has held principal chair positions in numerous major North American symphony orchestras. A former member of the Soviet Emigre Chamber Orchestra in New York, Mrs. Reyes performs with the Lyric Opera Orchestra as well as Broadway in Chicago. Founder a Director of the Corelli String Ensemble, a conductor-less, student chamber orchestra that performs throughout Chicago, Indiana, and Michigan. 

DAVID REYES - Cello/Violin: as a cellist has performed with the Chicago Symphony and the Los Angeles Philharmonic and as a member of numerous major and regional symphony orchestras throughout the U.S.  At age five, Reyes was among the very first American violin students to perform for the legendary violin pedagogue, Shinichi Suzuki, in master classes at Northwestern University in Chicago. Mr. Reyes has performed under the baton of some of the world's most famous conductors such as Eugene Ormandy, Leonard Bernstein, Daniel Barenboim, Leonard Slatkin, and Michael Tilson Thomas. A dedicated teacher and founder of Fine Arts Music Programs, which provides string instrument education to public and private schools thoughout Chicago. Mr. Reyes is Director of the Beverly Violin Conservatory where he teaches both violin and cello.
